Habitat houses are built by volunteers of all backgrounds, races, and religions, and by families in need, who invest hundreds of hours of labor into their new homes. Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Due to age restrictions, students under 16 will be serving New Orleans through other projects. More charitable partners to be announced soon. |
